Have We Been Buried Under a Mountain of Words?

It was recently estimated by experts that a mid-level manager in an average company now reads more than six times as much material at work today than they would have in 1950. That’s a huge increase in words, and while our education level has gone up, a simple reading test proves that our reading skills have not improved significantly since that time, meaning that today’s worker need to put in longer hours, bring work home, and might even solve this problem by simply not reading the important paperwork that they should be reading.

This mountain of words usually doesn’t stop once you’re at home either. From emails to newspapers, and even the amount of reading we do with social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook has increased.

There are a number of things which can make your life a lot easier, however. The first thing is to always stay organized. Take notes, which drastically reduces the amount of re-reading that you’ll need to do. In addition, you should learn to pre-read, or analyze what information you actually do need to read, and which you can get away without reading.

German Language Classes in London

My name is Niels and I teach German in north London. I teach privately and also work for two language schools. The amount of work I have in the language schools varies from term to term as it depends on the number of students wishing to learn German at any one time. At the moment I am teaching for fifteen hours each week in these schools. I currently have four private students and I could possible take on one or two more depending on how many hours of tuition the students were looking for German language classes London. When I begin one-to-one classes with a new student I ask the student to book ten lessons. This allows me to plan a short course with a test at the end. It also allows me to explain to the student what they will have learned at the end of the ten lessons. If they are happy, they can go on to book another ten lessons. I prefer to do it this way so that the student has fixed goals in mind and does not feel as if he or she is just meandering aimlessly.

India Made Easy – Learning Hindi Online

I am one of those people that is always trying to immerse themselves in new and exciting cultures. While searching online for something new to dive into I came across www.learnhindi-online.info. This site shows you many different software programs used for learning Hindi online. Now I know that Hindi is just one of the 22 official languages of India, but I would love to be able to learn it. When I complete the course and add that language to my resume I know it will get me noticed. One of the software programs I am interested in is called Rocket Hindi. The name is a bit of an oxymoron because learning Hindi is not a process that can be sped through. It will take me a bit of time and a large amount of patience, but overall I feel like learning this language is definitely a challenge I am ready to take on.
