Defensive Driving Tips to Keep You Safe
Operating a vehicle gives motorists several benefits but it also places the driver and its passengers at terrible risks. Every year, more than 20,000 serious accidents happen on the road according to studies. To make sure you are doing your part; stay alert and practice defensive driving every time you are driving.
Defensive drivers must not be overconfident. It is their responsibility to create a safe driving atmosphere. Fasten up, slow down and obey traffic rules and regulations. Keep your eyes moving, don’t just direct your attention on the narrow stretch of the road before you. Don’t trust turn signals. Be cautious of all the vehicles at all times in spite of seeing a signal flashing that shows they are turning out of your way. Never assume a turn signal is a reliable indicator of where the vehicle is going. Defensive driving doesn’t assume the other driver sees you. Turn on your headlights if possible to help you be seen by other drivers.
